Lainston House - a luxury corporate retreat venue in Hampshire

Lainston House is a historic Queen Anne country house near Winchester, set within 63 acres of Hampshire parkland. Tucked among orchards and woodland at the end of a sweeping driveway, this beautifully restored five-star hotel has a relaxed, rural feel that works particularly well for retreats centred around fun, downtime and bringing people together. With 50 bedrooms, five meeting rooms and extensive indoor and outdoor event space, it is an inspiring corporate event venue in Hampshire for residential meetings, company retreats and team gatherings, especially when great food is high on the agenda.

Accommodation

The hotel has 50 individually styled bedrooms and suites, ranging from Shoebox, Cosy, Comfy and Luxe rooms to Heritage Junior Suites and distinctive Signature accommodation. Options include countryside views, four-poster beds, private terraces, garden access and a hot tub, providing plenty of choice for comfortable residential corporate stays.

Indoor spaces

Five meeting and event spaces provide options for large presentations, private dining, board meetings and smaller breakout sessions. The 17th-century Dawley Barn is the largest, seating 166 theatre-style or 120 for dinner. Other spaces include the light-filled Hampshire Suite, Houghton Suite, Ash Room, mahogany-panelled Tilia and Linden, which opens directly onto an outdoor terrace.

Outdoor spaces

The 63-acre estate features a mile-long avenue of lime trees, historic chapel ruins, a sundial garden and a walled kitchen garden. Lawns, terraces, nature trails, and tennis courts provide additional settings for breakout sessions, well-being activities, and time away from the meeting room.

Dining and catering

Lainston House has two restaurants. The Avenue offers a tasting menu led by BBC MasterChef: The Professionals 2023 winner Tom Hamblet, with a Chef’s Table for up to six. The Wellhouse specialises in woodfire cooking. Private dining is available for up to 120, alongside barbecues, feasting tables and Kitchen Garden dining. Meeting packages can include freshly ground coffee, teas, baked treats, snacks, juices and chilled water throughout the day. As part of Exclusive Collection, corporate and private-event menus also use Klimato carbon-footprint information.

Corporate and group events

This luxury corporate retreat venue works particularly well for leadership meetings, company off-sites, team events, business entertaining and celebrations. Advanced integrated AV, video conferencing, high-speed wired and Wi-Fi connectivity support productive working, while exclusive use provides all 50 bedrooms, lounges and function spaces, gym and sports facilities, access to Season Cookery School and private use of public areas except The Wellhouse.
