Temple Guiting Manor is a Grade I-listed country house set within approximately 14.5 acres of landscaped grounds in the heart of the Cotswolds. The historic five-bedroom Manor has been carefully restored to retain its Cotswold stone, exposed beams, fireplaces and period detailing, while introducing the comfort and facilities expected of a high-quality private retreat.

The Manor sleeps up to 12 guests and can be booked on its own, with its own private garden and hot tub, or combined with additional properties across the wider Temple Guiting Estate. Taken together, the estate can accommodate up to 32 guests, making it particularly flexible for extended family gatherings, celebrations, groups of friends and larger residential stays.

Accommodation

The Manor has five individually designed bedrooms, with a mixture of super king, twin and four-poster configurations. Several rooms have their own bathrooms, while the attic bedrooms share a spacious bathroom with a roll-top bath and a walk-in shower. A small adjoining snug with two built-in single beds provides additional flexibility for families and younger guests.

For larger groups, further accommodation is available across the estate. The Barn provides five individually styled bedrooms, with the separate Peacock Shed offering an additional self-contained bedroom close to the outdoor pool. The three-bedroom Granary and one-bedroom Cow Byre provide further overspill accommodation, allowing the complete estate to sleep up to 32 guests.

Living & Dining Spaces

The Manor offers a generous collection of reception rooms, including a sitting room with a log burner, a formal lounge, a snug and a characterful dining room. The principal dining room can accommodate larger gatherings of up to 34 guests, while a second dining area provides a more intimate setting for up to 12.

A well-equipped kitchen allows guests to self-cater, while the estate's chef team can provide anything from informal breakfasts, afternoon teas and barbecues to canapés, private dinners and multi-course tasting menus. Bespoke menus and full-service catering can be arranged for special occasions, allowing groups to make the stay as relaxed or as fully serviced as they wish.

Gardens & Grounds

The landscaped grounds are one of Temple Guiting's defining features. Designed by award-winning landscape designer Jinny Blom, the estate extends across approximately 14.5 acres and includes formal gardens, lawns, a walled garden, a vegetable garden, gently rolling fields and a natural swimming and boating lake.

The Manor itself has its own private garden, terrace, hot tub and outdoor dining area. Guests also have access to wider shared areas of the estate, including the all-weather tennis court, woodland play area and lake. When the entire estate is taken exclusively, groups have the complete setting and its facilities to themselves.

Pool, Wellness & Activities

There is a range of leisure and wellbeing facilities across the estate. These include an all-weather tennis court, a natural swimming and boating lake, hot tubs at the Manor and Barn, a gym, a Pilates and yoga studio, a treatment room, table tennis, table football, and a private cinema room.

The heated outdoor swimming pool is available with the Barn or when the estate is hired exclusively. A wide range of additional activities can also be arranged, including cookery lessons, Bake Off-style challenges, wine tasting, cocktail making, floristry, yoga, Pilates, massage, tennis coaching, archery and personal training.

Temple Guiting works particularly well for groups wanting the privacy and flexibility of a private Cotswold estate rather than a conventional hotel. The combination of several accommodation buildings allows guests to stay together while retaining a degree of independence, with shared dining, gardens and leisure facilities providing natural places to come together throughout the stay.

It is an excellent choice for family gatherings, celebrations, weekends with friends and multi-generational stays. The estate can also accommodate corporate away stays and smaller team retreats, particularly where the emphasis is on spending time together, good food, activities and an informal residential setting rather than traditional conference facilities.

What's Nearby

Temple Guiting is surrounded by some of the best-known villages, towns and countryside of the Cotswolds. Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, Chipping Campden and Bourton-on-the-Water are all accessible for shopping, dining and days out, while Cheltenham is approximately 30 minutes away.

The wider area offers an excellent choice of gardens, historic houses and attractions, including Sudeley Castle, Hidcote, Kiftsgate, Batsford Arboretum and Cotswold Farm Park. Horse riding, clay shooting, golf, fishing and quad biking can also be arranged nearby.

Getting There

By car: Temple Guiting is approximately 30 minutes from Cheltenham, with road access from London via Oxford and the A40, and from Birmingham via the M5 or M42.
By train: Kingham and Moreton-in-Marsh are the most convenient stations for services from London Paddington, with journeys taking just under two hours. The onward drive to Temple Guiting is approximately 20 minutes by taxi.
