Frequently asked questions

What types of corporate events does Middleton Castle work best for?

Middleton Castle is best suited to smaller residential corporate groups when overnight accommodation is required. For larger daytime events, the venue can also accommodate marquee-based gatherings for teams of 250+, making it flexible for both intimate offsites and larger company events.

What group size does the venue work best for in practice?

This depends on the format. Overnight stays are better suited to smaller teams, while larger daytime events can be accommodated with a marquee. For groups above the overnight capacity, nearby accommodation options can be explored depending on the size of the group.

What are the main meeting and event spaces, and what capacities do they support?

The dining room can seat up to 30 guests around one table, making it suitable for boardroom-style meetings or private dining. The Great Hall can be arranged with soft seating or tables and chairs, while two additional reception rooms provide further informal breakout space.

How do corporate groups typically use the venue over a 2–3 day stay?

Groups typically combine boardroom-style sessions with breakouts in the different rooms around the castle. Meals can be arranged through partner caterers, while downtime might include on-site activities such as clay pigeon shooting, axe throwing or archery, golf at a local course, or a meal at the village pub.

Can full catering be arranged, and how flexible is catering around event schedules?

Yes. Full catering can be organised through the venue’s partner catering team, who can coordinate directly around your schedule. This allows meals and refreshments to be planned around meetings, activities and timings for the wider event.

What on-site activities or team-building options are available?

Clay pigeon shooting, axe throwing and archery can all be arranged on site through external suppliers. These work well for informal team-building, especially when combined with meeting sessions inside the castle.

What additional accommodation is available nearby for larger groups?

There are additional accommodation options nearby, although the best fit will depend on the size of the group and the format of the event. For larger bookings, we can help explore nearby accommodation alongside the main castle stay.

Can a marquee be added in the garden for larger events or outdoor dining?

Yes. A marquee can be added in the garden for larger events, outdoor dining or daytime corporate gatherings. This makes the venue more flexible for bigger groups, especially where the event does not require everyone to stay overnight.
