Temple Guiting Barn - A stylish private retreat in the Cotswolds

Temple Guiting Barn is a beautifully converted five-bedroom Cotswold barn set within the 14.5-acre Temple Guiting Estate. Sleeping up to 10 guests in its main bedrooms, it combines exposed beams and traditional stonework with colourful contemporary interiors, generous social spaces and a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

The Barn has its own private patio garden and hot tub, with a heated outdoor swimming pool just across the garden. It is particularly well suited to families, groups of friends and celebratory stays where guests want the privacy of their own house alongside the facilities and activities of a larger country estate.

Accommodation

The Barn has five individually styled bedrooms, each with its own distinctive character. Several can be configured as either super king or twin rooms, giving groups useful flexibility, and the bedrooms have their own bathroom or shower facilities.

Two rooms also include day beds, which can provide additional sleeping arrangements by prior agreement. Close to the outdoor pool, the self-contained Peacock Shed offers a further king bedroom with its own walk-in shower room and provides a useful additional option for groups requiring more accommodation.

Living & Dining Spaces

The heart of the Barn is its open-plan kitchen and dining area, designed for groups to cook, eat and spend time together. The contemporary kitchen is generously equipped, while the dining table seats up to 14 guests.

A spacious living room provides plenty of room to relax, while an additional gallery area offers a quieter place to work or unwind. The interiors combine contemporary design with vintage pieces and the original character of the converted building, creating a noticeably more informal feel than the historic Manor elsewhere on the estate.

Gardens & Outdoor Spaces

The Barn opens onto its own private patio garden with a hot tub, barbecue, outdoor dining furniture and lounge seating. This provides a natural extension of the living space during warmer months and makes the property particularly well suited to sociable group stays.

Guests also have access to the wider Temple Guiting Estate, whose landscaped grounds were designed by Jinny Blom. Across approximately 14.5 acres are formal gardens, open countryside, an all-weather tennis court, a woodland play area and a natural swimming and boating lake.

Pool & Leisure

One of the Barn's best features is its heated outdoor swimming pool, set within a secluded walled garden with space for guests to relax beside the water. The private hot tub provides another place to unwind, while the all-weather tennis court is shared with other guests when the estate is not taken exclusively.

The wider estate also offers a gym, Pilates and yoga studio, treatment facilities and a range of indoor and outdoor activities. Additional experiences can be arranged, including yoga, Pilates, massages, cookery sessions, wine tasting, cocktail making, tennis coaching and other group activities.

Dining & Catering

The Barn works equally well for guests who want to self-cater or those looking for a more fully serviced stay. The large kitchen is designed for group cooking, while the estate's chef team can arrange everything from breakfast hampers, barbecues and informal lunches to canapés and private dinners.

Bespoke menus can be created for celebrations and special occasions, with additional service available for groups wanting to enjoy restaurant-style dining without leaving the property.

Private & Group Stays

Temple Guiting Barn is an excellent choice for smaller groups looking for a sociable private house in the Cotswolds. Its combination of five bedrooms, generous shared spaces, pool, hot tub and gardens makes it particularly appealing for family gatherings, weekends with friends and milestone celebrations.

It can also work well for small team stays and informal retreats where the focus is on spending time together rather than conventional meeting facilities. For larger groups, additional accommodation can be arranged elsewhere across the Temple Guiting Estate, accommodating up to 32 guests when taken more extensively.
