Eastnor Castle is an exceptional corporate event venue in Herefordshire, set at the foot of the Malvern Hills on the edge of the Cotswolds. Surrounded by a deer park, arboretum and lake within a 5,000-acre estate, this exclusive-use castle combines grand historic interiors with a highly professional approach to meetings, retreats, team building and private dining.
Eastnor Castle offers overnight accommodation for up to 23 guests in 12 individually designed bedrooms. The rooms include eleven doubles and one large single, with four four-poster beds and several enjoying far-reaching views across the Malvern Hills, the lake and the arboretum. Comfort is clearly prioritised, with Egyptian cotton sheets, goose down duvets, fluffy white robes, English Floris toiletries, quality tea and coffee, bottled water and handmade Herefordshire biscuits. For additional group stays, three holiday cottages on the estate provide further high-standard accommodation and are rated 4* by Visit England.
The castle’s principal rooms are well suited to meetings, presentations, conferences, training and private dining. The Great Hall is the standout space, measuring 16m by 8m and accommodating up to 150 guests theatre-style in a room that feels both grand and welcoming. The State Dining Room seats up to 80 on round tables or 22 around the central table for more formal occasions. The Gothic Drawing Room, designed by Pugin, offers an impressive setting with lakeside views, while the Octagon Room is bright, private and ideal for smaller meetings or boardroom use. Wi-Fi, ample sockets, a projector, screen, flipcharts and PA equipment can all be provided.
Eastnor Castle’s outdoor setting is a major part of its appeal. The estate’s foothills, woodland, lakes, terraces and lawns create a memorable backdrop for team building, activity days and time away from the boardroom. The terraces overlooking the lake are especially striking for drinks receptions and outdoor sessions, while the wider estate offers access to quarries, hills and off-road trails. For larger outdoor gatherings, the deer park has a proven track record for hosting substantial events with castle and Malvern Hills views.
Dining at Eastnor Castle is built around fresh local produce, excellent wines and polished service. Corporate dinners can be hosted in the State Dining Room for smaller groups or scaled up to 80 guests on round tables, while the Great Hall can be transformed into an impressive dining space for up to 150. For larger celebrations, the terraces or courtyard can support marquee events, with drinks in the State rooms followed by dinner and dancing. Menus are created by chefs Clive and Emma Gawlick, who focus on delicious, locally sourced food and carefully chosen wines.
Eastnor Castle is a strong choice for businesses seeking an intimate yet unforgettable event venue in Herefordshire. The in-house team plans and organises meetings, conferences, training days, product launches, private parties and team building programmes with close attention to detail. The estate’s scale and variety allow companies to combine formal sessions with memorable activities such as the Land Rover Experience, clay pigeon shooting, falconry, archery and crossbow, sheepdog trials and creative workshops. The setting is distinctive, but the service remains warm, organised and professional throughout.
Eastnor Castle is close to Ledbury and set between the Cotswolds and the Welsh Marches, with the Malvern Hills providing immediate access to walking, scenery and outdoor pursuits. On the estate itself, groups can arrange activities including off-road driving, clay pigeon shooting, birds of prey experiences, archery and crossbow, sheepdog trials and pottery sessions. For event planners looking to build a fuller itinerary, the estate offers plenty of scope for tailored activity programmes.
