Sparkford Hall is a Georgian country house in the Somerset countryside, set within 12 acres of private grounds and offered on an exclusive-use basis. Known on the website as Somerset Country House, it combines generous period proportions, a homely feel and flexible event spaces, making it a strong choice for a corporate off-site in Somerset, as well as private celebrations and residential retreats.
Sparkford Hall sleeps up to 36 guests across 15 bedrooms, with 12 bedrooms in the main house and 3 more in the cottage. The bedroom mix includes grand en-suite rooms, doubles, family rooms and flexible twin or dorm-style arrangements at additional cost. High-quality duvets, linen and towels are provided, and every room looks out onto the surrounding countryside, giving overnight stays a comfortable and well-considered feel for group bookings and multi-day events.
The main hall runs the width of the house and works as a relaxed reception and dining space, with scope to open it up further for larger functions. The library offers a more intimate setting with an open fire and is licensed for wedding ceremonies of up to 25 guests. At the centre of the house, the Gallery provides a practical space for drinks, guest arrivals, speeches and announcements, with a built-in bar area. For larger gatherings, the barn seats up to 80 cabaret or 150 seated, while the cellar nightclub and cinema and games room add valuable breakout and evening options.
The estate extends across 12 acres and includes private grounds, orchard and walled gardens, giving groups plenty of room to relax, socialise or organise activities. The grounds also provide marquee space for larger events, with capacity for up to 250 guests. For longer stays and retreat-style use, the outdoor pool (which can be heated) and sauna add a more restorative side to the venue, while camping and glamping in the orchard can support larger group events with bell tents and yurts available for hire.
Sparkford Hall is a self-catered country house, with catering available through preferred local suppliers if required. The house can seat up to 34 dining together, while the barn offers additional capacity for larger meals and celebrations. The large kitchen is designed to support serious group catering, with a gas range cooker, 4-oven AGA, walk-in pantry, 2 fridge-freezers, 2 dishwashers and a 12-seat kitchen table. Guests can arrange stocked fridges and pantries in advance, or bring in private chefs for anything from healthy menus to more traditional feasts.
