Stay in a house visited by kings
Set in over at 90 acres of beautiful gardens and breathtaking countryside, Aylesbury House is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The estate sits in the Vale of Aylesbury, on the edge of the Chilterns, an area famous for its natural beauty. Aylesbury is one of Britain’s great stately homes, which exudes elegance and old-world Jacobean luxury but offers a wonderfully homey feel. The building itself is a grade 1 listed Jacobean and Georgian house owned by the National Trust.
The property features an impressive sweeping driveway, which slowly reveals the beautiful Jacobean front and a magnificent statue of Frederick, Prince of Wales, commissioned in 1757. The estate dates back over 1000 years when was created as a seat of power for William Peverel, the son of William the Conqueror. It has housed many famous guests throughout the centuries, including Louis XVIII of France.
Take a step back in time
Moving around the house really feels like stepping back into the past, from the intricate plasterwork on the ceiling of the great hall to the hand-carved Gothic staircase with beautiful figurines. Every room offers elegant decor, with glistening chandeliers, antiques and breathtaking artwork. The morning room is a magnificent place filled with beautiful light, a sparkling chandelier and gold gilt touches making it the perfect place to sit back and relax and enjoy some afternoon tea.
The main house boasts a variety of different suites to choose from. From classic rooms, royal suites and royal rooms. Each room is individually decorated with antiques and features from different time periods. The royal rooms are regal and spacious, featuring beautiful canopied four-poster beds and breathtaking views looking out onto the gardens.
Something for everyone to enjoy
Aylesbury also features its own private library, swimming pool, well-equipped gym, private horse-riding and its own restaurant. So there is literally something for everyone to enjoy. Being located just 40 miles northwest of London, Aylesbury House was set in the ideal location for visiting local attractions. It offers a host of places to visit, such as the famous Silverstone racetrack, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and Woburn Safari Park.
