Upper Tangley Manor sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the Surrey Hills, just 35 minutes from Central London. This area is renowned for the finer things in life and historically was a playground for the rich and famous. Upper Tangley Manor is a Grade I listed building with sumptuous interiors and beautiful Arts and Crafts gardens including a moat, a pond and a lake. Arriving at the Manor is like a walk through history. What we love about the Manor is the obvious care that has been taken to preserve and continue its story to create a whole, which is perfectly suited to welcoming guests.

Linger in the amazing dinning room, paneled with timber taken from ships of the Spanish Armada and beautiful leaded windowpanes engraved with the signatures of previous guests such as King George V and Queen Mary. You will not have to miss out on modern comforts though; such as Wifi, a fully equipped modern kitchen and a large HD flat screen and DVD system in the library.

The drawing room transports you into the 1930’s and looks on to the latest addition to the house, the award winning fully glass breakfast room. This means that you can enjoy the secluded courtyard whatever the weather. We could definitely imagine long lazy meals at the large round family table – your view of the clouds and trees never interrupted by more than a bird.

The five bedrooms are light and airy with interesting features such as a historically listed bathroom and the actual beds used in the recent Beatrix Potter film. The ground floor oriental room has a beautiful and dramatic circular Moon window through which you can contemplate the Zen like fountain. All are individually styled and comfortably furnished.

Upper Tangley Manor would be the perfect location for some real relaxation with family or friends. The staff also often welcomes film crews and exclusive corporate events. Close by are many National Trust treasures and the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre showing pre West End productions.You may also wish to visit the lovley market town of Guilford or take a day out to see London.
