This magnificent Victorian house is set within a 5,000 acre estate on the doorstep of the beautiful Suffolk Broads, an area known for its wonderful coast, “swallows and amazons” style sailing and pretty market towns.

Probably one of the most romantic houses that we have seen with towers, a winter garden and immaculately decorated state rooms; this is complimented by the vibrantly fresh family rooms and stylish bedrooms which bring to this breathtaking house an easy charm and welcoming atmosphere. Add to this a swimming pool, tennis courts and a 2 mile long lake and this becomes the perfect country retreat whatever your event.

The long drive sweeps along the estate paths until you glimpse the house, so immediately spectacular that you will never take for granted your time spent there.

The state rooms allow you to drift back to a world of Victorian opulence - gleaming wood panels, magnificent antiques and grand proportions greet you along with floods of light from large elegant windows. Revel in well maintained craftwork from centuries ago still as beautiful as when it was first made and the sense that you are experiencing something really special.

The family rooms offer the same elegance but the young owners have added touches of artistic flair which is remarkable in styling as well as in comfort. We particularly love the huge kitchen and breakfast space leading straight to the gardens and pool – even your most jaded friends will be suitably impressed.

The bedrooms are newly decorated with care and taste and the new bathrooms are spaces to luxuriate in.

As if all this wasn’t enough, the gardens are outstanding – far reaching estate and park views, a Victorian aviary, a sunken lavender garden and the magnificent glass winter garden – the ideal place for some serious entertaining or a sunny spot for a quiet cup of tea.

Facilities include a heated outdoor pool which must have one of the most surprising settings ever, and a tennis court. There is also a 2 mile long private lake with summer houses and water skiing.

When describing this wonderful estate it has been hard for us to think of any event for which it wouldn’t suit. Marvellous enough to impress the most prestigious guests but offering so much warmth and comfort that a month long family holiday would also be perfect.
