This beautiful country house defines country house living. Set on a traditional estate that just exudes the peace and tranquillity of a bygone age.

The house has been renovated beautifully to high modern standards but with a sympathetic and elegant edge that perfectly reflects its historical legacy whilst retaining a down to earth warmth that allows you and your guests to feel perfectly at home.

The house is set in 12 pretty acres surrounded by 1000 acres of Duchy of Cornwall land with far reaching views to the Black Mountains; you can walk for hours without ever seeing a road straight from the back door. A short walk through the garden takes you to the working small holding, the charming ancient church and the ‘Wain House’ (a lovely open fronted barn which is a fantastic events space).

The entrance to the house could not be more attractive, large double doors lead straight into the great hall where a cosy reception of snug sofas, open fire and wooden floors covered in beautiful oriental rugs set the tone.

The kitchen, fabulously equipped with a big AGA and a large commercial oven with 6 hobs is a real family space which won’t be interrupted by any catering you have as the house has two further kitchens including a catering kitchen.

Further rooms to enjoy include the Study and Chinoiserie Room both with open fires and the Games Room with its billiard table. There is a lot to keep everybody entertained; the house has several televisions and a Wii. The cellar houses a big flat screen with a good DVD library and you can also indulge in some wine tasting whilst you are there. Outdoors enjoy a BBQ or a spot of croquet as the mood takes you. There is even a yoga studio and gym and they can arrange beauty treatments on site so total relaxation or even a detox weekend is possible.

The bedrooms all have real wow factor but remain both stylish and calm. The bathrooms offer the best of contemporary plumbing in light spaces full of character. The house also has a ground floor bedroom that is suitable for a wheelchair user and another ground floor room with good access.
